Green building materials will open "Green Gold Ten Years"

Time reverted back to 2013, the launch of the “Green Building Action Plan” triggered a strong earthquake in China's construction and building materials industry. For a time, every cell in China's building materials industry was activated, and the green industry chain began to awaken. We suddenly realized that the “Golden Decade” was gone to bring us another “Green Golden Decade”.

 

In 2015, we will truly witness the energy of “Green Gold”.

 

Can you call for the long-awaited green building materials evaluation standard?

 

On May 21, 2014, after the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Measures for the Treatment of Green Building Materials Evaluation”, the reporter visited a number of leaders and experts in the building materials industry. They all said that the next step is the government-led Green building materials work may be linked to relevant units, such as China Building Materials Research Institute, CTC, China Academy of Building Research and other units, to jointly draft the "Green Building Materials Evaluation Mark Management Measures" rules.

 

However, as of the end of 2014, the relevant rules are still “still immersed in the face”.

 

At present, China's building materials industry has more than 1,500 national standards and standards, but none of them have requirements for greenness, but only the performance requirements.

 

As we all know, the scientific determination of the weighting coefficient in the evaluation of green building materials is the most critical indicator reflecting the greenness of materials. Each material requires a corresponding green standard. Based on the composition, manufacturing process and use of each building material, the green indicators are not the same. It can be seen that the indicator determines that the workload is huge, and it takes several years for the green building materials to work.

 

In 2015, can the rules be “started out in a thousand”? Or can the material green evaluation standard “large amount and wide area” be released first?

 

Recently, relevant persons from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has established an inter-ministerial coordination mechanism for the promotion and application of green building materials with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will issue the Green Building Materials Development Action Plan and the Green Building Materials Evaluation Mark Management Measures as soon as possible. At the same time, the two ministries and commissions will formulate the first batch of technical requirements for green building materials and carry out green evaluation work, and publish a catalogue of green building materials.

 

We look forward to the release of guidelines for the classification of green building materials and the classification evaluation in 2015. At the same time, how to classify green building materials, how to determine the green indicators of each material after classification, and other detailed macro-products can be gradually carried out, pointing out the direction for the development of green building materials enterprises.

 

In addition, because the greenness evaluation is subject to a number of indicators, some green content that cannot be quantified may not guarantee its scientific nature. Therefore, we also expect a preliminary establishment of a large number of expert libraries. In the assessment of green materials, the scientific nature of material greenness evaluation is further ensured by expert scoring for each material's qualitative problems and how to quantify them.

 

Can the new construction of buildings and materials truly achieve green integration? How do building materials companies “see the wind and rudder”?

 

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued an announcement to approve the “Green Building Evaluation Standard” as a national standard, which will be implemented from January 1, 2015.

 

According to reports, the new version of the "Green Building Evaluation Standard" is more demanding and more extensive than the 2006 version. In the revision process, the standard summarizes the practical experience and research results of green building evaluation in China in recent years. It has carried out a number of special studies and test evaluations, drawing on the experience of foreign advanced standards and extensively soliciting opinions from relevant parties.

 

The new "Green Building Evaluation Standards" will be further extended to the main types of civil buildings in the residential buildings and public buildings in the original "Green Building Evaluation Standards", including office buildings, shopping malls and hotel buildings. In the evaluation stage, the green building evaluation mark is divided into “green building design evaluation mark” and “green building evaluation mark”. Operational evaluation increases “construction management” and “operation management” to better cover the entire life of the building.

 

“More strict and wider” means that China's green buildings will move towards “green” that pays more attention to actual operational effects. For green building materials enterprises, it is both an opportunity and a challenge.
